Cumberland, MD (C&O 184.5) to Paw Paw, MD (C&O 156.2), Fifteen mile Creek Aqueduct (C&O 140.8), or somewhere in between.

Today is a “down day.”  We have no events scheduled.  This is a good day to catch up some rest and enjoy the trail or to get some miles behind us in anticipation of the Stop the kaboOM Festival on July 21th.  Today, we will start our trip down the Potomac to our final destination; Washington DC.  The Schoolhouse Kitchen (map) is located in Oldtown (C&O 166.7).  Moving past Oldtown, we will enter the most remote areas of the C&O.  Crossing the bridge into Paw Paw, WV, you will find a convenience store and restaurants.  This is a good place to fill you tires.  We may stop at the Paw Paw campground (C&O 156.2) for the night or continue on to Fifteenmile Creek Aqueduct (C&O 140.8) or any place in between.  Whatever we do, keep an eye on the river as bald eagles are frequently sighted in the area.
